Who we do it for

One of the great things about travelling by train is that you can save a lot of carbon emissions compared to driving by yourself.

It’s amazing how a simple choice can have such a big impact on the environment. Here are some fun facts to give you an idea of just how much of a difference it can make:

Image showing national average CO2 as 0.03549kg compared to LNR at 0.03498kg

Our trains produce only 0.03498 kgCO2e* of carbon emissions per passenger km on average, which is less than the national average of 0.03549 kgCO2e/pass.km.

5 times less co2 emissions

Choosing the train over a car results in five times less carbon emissions being release (based on UK Gov carbon factor per single passenger).

40% recycle

We recycle 40% of our waste and, we never send anything directly to landfill, instead using energy from waste plants to help keep our community clean and healthy.
