Technician

Be the hands‑on expert who ensures our trains stay dependable and ready for passengers. We’re looking for engineers with solid technical knowledge, sharp problem‑solving skills, and a strong focus on safety. You’ll work independently while collaborating with depot colleagues to keep services running smoothly.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on traction and rolling stock to agreed standards
  • Respond to in‑service faults and act as the Designated Person to maintain safe working practices

  • Record and report maintenance activity accurately, managing materials efficiently through depot systems

  • Operate plant equipment and drive company vehicles when required

  • Contribute to improvements by suggesting updates to technical processes, documentation, and tooling

Carriage Cleaner

Be the welcoming touch for passengers by keeping our trains spotless and comfortable throughout their journeys. We’re looking for reliable, safety‑conscious cleaners with good communication skills and the ability to follow cleaning procedures with care.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Use specialist cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively
  • Carry out tasks such as litter removal, graffiti cleaning, toilet replenishment, and safe handling of bio‑hazards

  • Dispose of rubbish correctly and re‑line bins when needed

  • Top up screen wash, clean mess rooms, and ensure passenger facilities are hygienic and well presented

Shunters

Be the driving force behind safe and efficient train movements in our depots. We’re looking for individuals who are safety‑focused, confident communicators, and able to work independently with initiative in a busy operational environment.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Manage train movements safely, including coupling, uncoupling, and reformation in line with depot rules
  • Act as Person in Charge of Sidings (PICOS), Designated Person, or Person In Charge (PIC) when required

  • Keep safety front of mind by reporting incidents or concerns promptly

  • Assist with depot tasks such as CET servicing, tanking, radiator cleaning, and replenishing consumables

  • Support depot planning to ensure units are stabled and maintained effectively

Engineering Management

Be the leader who ensures our depots operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidates for this team are organised, collaborative managers who can guide teams while overseeing maintenance, repairs, and rolling stock presentation.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Lead and support depot colleagues to maintain safe and effective operations
  • Oversee production activities, including maintenance, repairs, and modifications
  • Manage the presentation, reliability, and readiness of rolling stock
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and safety regulations
  • Drive improvements across depot processes, team performance, and operational efficiency
