Why is First Class being removed?
First Class use has been in decline for some time. By making the whole of our trains available to everyone we are able to provide additional seats for our Standard Class passengers. The change means an extra 4.7 million seats will be available for everybody on London Northwestern Railway every year at a time when we continue to welcome more customers back to the railway.
How can I claim a refund on my First Class season ticket?
The quickest and easiest way to claim a refund is by visiting a London Northwestern Railway station ticket office, where staff will be able to exchange your First Class season ticket for a Standard Class season ticket and refund you the difference. If you are not able to visit a ticket office, contact our Customer Relations team.
Will you be changing the internal layout of the “First Class” areas on your trains?
While we will be removing First Class signage from the inside and outside of our fleet, we do not plan to make any major alterations to the internal layout of our fleet. In coming years some of our current trains will be leaving our fleet as they are replaced with our new Class 730 trains.
I am worried about being able to find a seat without a designated “First Class” area?
