London Northwestern Railway will be offering free travel for military personnel on Remembrance Sunday 2019.

Sunday 10th November commemorates all those who gave up their lives for their country and is a day to honour all who took part in wars past and present. On this day, a number of services of remembrance will be taking place across the UK, which is why we are once again coming together with other Train Operating Companies to offer free travel to serving military personnel.

Travelling to and from London

Free travel will be offered to military personnel who are attending the Cenotaph service in London to any London Terminal station on either Saturday 9th November or Sunday 10th November, returning from any London Terminal on either Sunday 10th November or Monday 11th November 2019.

To be accepted for this offer, military personnel will either need to be in uniform, or, show a current Ministry of Defence issued identity card (MoD ID).

Transport for London will also be offering free travel for current serving military personnel only in uniform and on production of a MoD ID card, on Tube, DLR or Bus services. Free travel cannot be offered on River Bus or Emirates Cable Car services.

The Rest of Great Britain

For those military personnel who are not travelling to London, free travel is available on Sunday 10th November only.

Armed Forces Discount

Here at London Northwestern Railway, we offer Armed forces personnel and veterans who are members of the Defence Discount Scheme 20% off Advance rail tickets over the Remembrance period - and all year round.

We would finally like to thank all volunteers who were involved in raising money across the network to collect funds on behalf of the Royal British Legion. We will wear our poppies with pride as we reflect on all those who have laid their lives for the greater good.
