Things to know about Group Travel
- Submit your enquiry using our online form and our group travel team will be in touch
- Enquiries can be submitted up to two months before your travel dates. Unfortunately, we are unable to process any enquires with less than 10 days to travel.
- Tickets are delivered by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery to a UK address only – digital tickets are not currently available for Group Travel
GroupSave (3-9 people)
If your group has 3 to 9 people, GroupSave is a great way to save. It gives you up to a 1/3 off any Off-Peak ticket across our network.
- Helps you save up to a 1/3 on your train journey
- Adults and children can make up the group
- No railcard or membership required – GroupSave is free to use
Just so you know…
- Groups must always travel together
- All members of the group must have the same origin, destination, and route
- GroupSave tickets are only valid on Off-Peak tickets – generally after 09:30 Monday to Friday
- Time restrictions do not apply at weekends or on Bank Holidays
- Additional discounts, e.g. Railcards, cannot be used in conjunction with a GroupSave ticket

You can buy your GroupSave tickets:
- Online with our journey planner – the GroupSave discount will be automatically applied when you book between 3 and 9 passengers

Planning a group trip doesn’t have to be a challenge. Whether you’re a small group of friends or a large school party, follow these tips to ensure a smooth journey and maximum savings.
Choose the right saving for your group size
The first step is knowing which discount applies to you.
- 3 to 9 people: Use GroupSave for up to a 1/3 off when booking online.
- 10 or more people: Use our Group Travel service for up to 26% off ticket prices and dedicated support from our in-house team.
Travel during 'Off-Peak' hours for comfort
GroupSave discounts are available on Off-Peak services (generally after 09:30, Monday-Friday, and all day at weekends). Traveling outside of the morning rush hour isn't just cheaper - it also ensures your group has the best chance of finding seats together on our quieter trains.
Assign a single 'Travel Lead' To keep things simple at the station, pick one person to manage the booking.
- For GroupSave, all passengers must travel together on one digital or paper ticket.
- For Group Travel (10+), your tickets are sent via Recorded Delivery; having one person responsible for the 'ticket pack' makes boarding much faster.
Check your lead times
Large groups require a bit more coordination. While GroupSave can be bought minutes before travel, our 10+ Group Travel service requires an enquiry at least 10 days in advance. This gives our team time to find the best train for your group and post your tickets to you.
Unlock 2-for-1 entry at your destination
Your savings don’t have to stop at the station. Your London Northwestern Railway tickets unlock 2-for-1 entry and other great discounts at top attractions.
