Storm Eunice: London Northwestern Railway reiterates Do Not Travel warning

London Northwestern Railway has reiterated its warning that passengers should not travel today (Fri 18 Feb) as Storm Eunice continues to cause widespread disruption.

All services to and from London Euston were suspended on Friday afternoon while Network Rail work to clear multiple storm-related blockages on the West Coast Main Line.

Earlier today, fly-away trampolines and a fallen tree caused delays to services in Hertfordshire while wooden pallets blew onto the line near Northampton, causing delays and cancellations.

The operator is also warning that some journeys on Saturday morning may be disrupted while damaged railway infrastructure is repaired and trains are moved to their correct locations.

Due to the scale of the ongoing disruption, passengers holding tickets for travel today will be able to use them all weekend or on Monday instead.

Lawrence Bowman, LNR customer experience director, said: “I would like to thank those passengers who have followed the warnings and stayed away from the railway today.

“Storm Eunice is causing significant damage and disruption across the rail network and our clear message remains that people should not travel by train today.

“Some services on Saturday may be disrupted due to the knock-on impact of the storm and I urge passengers travelling this weekend to check their journeys before setting out.”
