Rail passengers urged to check journeys following major disruption at Northampton

Rail passengers travelling to and from Northampton are being urged to check their journeys before travelling following a major fault with the overheard power lines today (Fri 16 Oct).

Disruption is expected to continue for the rest of the day while Network Rail engineers work to fix the problem, which is affecting London Northwestern Railway services heading north and south.

No services are currently able to call at Northampton and rail replacement buses will be in operation to and from the station while the problem is fixed. Knock-on delays as a result of the issue are also likely to affect services between Birmingham-Rugby and Milton Keynes-London Euston.

Passengers can check live travel information by visiting www.lnr.uk/plan or follow @LNRailway on Twitter for the latest updates.

Any passenger whose journey is delayed by 15 minutes or more can claim compensation via the Delay Repay scheme - visit www.lnr.uk/delayrepay for details.
