London Northwestern Railway issues Christmas travel reminder

London Northwestern Railway has issued a reminder to passengers about changes to timetables over the Christmas period.

Fewer services will run on Christmas Eve afternoon and last trains will be earlier on all routes. As usual, there will be no train service on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

A Saturday level of service will be in operation between Monday 27 December and New Year's Day inclusive, with slightly later first trains and fewer peak-time departures.

A reduced service will be in operation between Northampton and London Euston from New Year's Day until Tuesday 4 January inclusive for track renewal works.

Buses will replace trains:

  • On Sunday 19 December between Coventry and Nuneaton for track renewal works
  • On Monday 27 December between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway for track renewal works (early morning services only)

Further ahead, major drainage works near Rugby between Tuesday 4 January and Wednesday 12 January inclusive will mean travel times between Crewe and London Euston will take longer and a change at Rugby will be required for most journeys.

Passengers are advised to check their journeys at www.lnr.uk/plan before travelling.
