London Northwestern Railway extends partnership with Rail Safe Friendly

The Rail Safe Friendly programme has announced that London Northwestern Railway (LNR) is continuing its partnership by sponsoring 90 schools at Silver level, joining a growing list of industry supporters dedicated to raising rail safety awareness among young people across the UK.

Rail Safe Friendly, run by Learn Live, aims to educate children about the dangers of trespassing on railways through engaging digital content delivered directly to schools.

Since its launch in March 2023, Rail Safe Friendly has reached over 3 million young people across more than 18,000 schools, helping to keep young people safe near railway environments.

Stuart Heaton, managing director of Learn Live and Rail Safe Friendly, said:

“We are pleased that LNR is continuing its partnership with the Rail Safe Friendly programme by sponsoring 90 schools at Silver level.

“It shows the collective commitment of the rail industry to making railway safety education accessible to young people across the country. We are thrilled to continue working with LNR and look forward to furthering our mission to protect young people from the dangers of railway trespass.

“Their ongoing support means that we will be able to reach many more young people in delivering vital rail safety education in order to prevent injuries and save lives.”

Shaun Keeling, head of security & emergency response at LNR, said:

“The safety of our passengers, colleagues and local communities is our number one priority, so we are pleased to continue our partnership with Rail Safe Friendly at a silver level. By bringing educational safety content to 90 schools across our network, we’ll be helping to protect young people from the dangers of trespass, both now and into adulthood.”
