What to do in Liverpool for a day
Our top things to do in Liverpool for a day
With direct trains to Liverpool, you can get there and back in a day! Better still, all of these options are all within a 20-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street station!
Begin your whistle-stop tour at Liverpool’s iconic Royal Albert Dock. Take advantage of the Dock’s impressive retail and leisure facilities, world-class museums, and some of Liverpool’s finest independent businesses.
Nevertheless, if you don’t fancy looking around one of these attractions, there’s plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants to indulge in… or simply admire the scenery.
A ten-minute walk from the Royal Albert Dock is the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city – the Museum of Liverpool.
Did you know, it’s also the largest newly built national museum in Britain for more than a century! Here you can uncover Liverpool’s unique history as well as being able to hop on board the overhead railway and experience what it means to be a Liverpudlian.
At this point, you’re already located at Pier Head, so why not grab your cameras and get artsy by taking photos of The Three Graces?
This beautiful skyline consists of Europe’s first skyscraper – the Royal Liver Building and Liverpool’s Grade II listed buildings, the Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool.
If you have some spare time, you can also immerse yourself in the British Music Experience located in the Cunard Building, where you can discover the ultimate history of British rock and pop.
Just a five-minute walk away from Pier Head is Liverpool ONE. A treasure trove for treasure hunters and bargain buyers. With over 170 stores, bars and restaurants, Liverpool ONE is the place to be for the best shopping experience in the city. From high street stores and designer brands, there is plenty to get your wallets opening.
Lastly, to end your one stop shop to Liverpool, you must check out The Cavern Club, located on Mathew Street – just a 2-minute walk away from Liverpool ONE. It is arguably the most famous club in the world - because if you don’t know already, Liverpool is the home of The Beatles, and The Cavern Club is the place where The Beatles played their first performance back in February 1961!
So, ‘Come Together’ and enjoy ‘A Day in the Life’ (see what we did there) of a Liverpudlian by listening to live music right in the heart of the city centre.
There you have it! A one-day itinerary to Liverpool. But, do remember that Liverpool has so much more to see and do, we’re just scraping the surface!
