Marston Vale Line

We're proud of our commitment to Community Rail Partnerships.

Here at West Midlands Trains we are fond of community rail partnerships and groups across Britain. Our aim is to engage communities and help people get the most from their railways.

The Marston Vale Line is the main public transport link running through Marston Vale. A trip along the 16-mile Vale Line really tells the story of the vale itself. The line starts in the historic County Town of Bedford. Here, you can explore the ancient market and all of the hidden treasures of the historic streets.

Trains operate between Bedford and Bletchley at roughly hourly intervals, Monday to Saturday. The journey along the whole length of the line takes 44 minutes. There are no trains on Sundays.

The railway was designed to encouraging local people to use and become involved in their local railway.

Our aims for the community are:

  • To improve conditions for existing users of the rail service
  • To encourage new people to use the line
  • To increase the number of people using the line for work and leisure
  • Ensuring the line has a long and financially stable future
