Train Enhancements

  • In just a few years time, every train on our network will either be upgraded or brand new, making a huge difference to your journey.

Our upgrade programme (on Class 350s) has just started with one train being refreshed at a time, enabling us to keep as many trains out on the network as we can during the day. You'll start to see charging points at every seat, better passenger information screens along with an interior refresh including new carpets and reupholstered seats. Furthermore, from December we'll be starting to add in 40 extra carriages to our fleet.

In the meantime, 225 new carriages have been ordered, specified and are being built in Derby. Every new train will have 5 carriages (or 10), and each carriage is 4 metres longer than the current Class 350 fleet - providing a lot more seats.

In just a few years time, every train across the London Northwestern Railway network will either be upgraded or brand new, making a huge difference to everyone's journey.

We'll be updating our website with more new trains information soon, check back here for details.
