Improvement Works towards Liverpool November 2019

Essential works are taking place between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway on 2nd and 3rd November. If you’re travelling to / from Liverpool during this time, please plan ahead.

How will my journey be affected?

Our trains will start & terminate at Crewe. Rail relacement buses will run between Crewe and Liverpool South Parkway, where Merseyrail services will be operating for onwards travel towards Liverpool City Centre.

Trains will not call at Liverpool Lime Street.

Ticketing information

You will be able to use Merseyrail services to Liverpool Central or Liverpool Moorfields with a valid LNR ticket to ‘Liverpool Stations’. If your ticket is to Liverpool South Parkway only, you will need to buy a valid ticket to use Merseyrail services.

As ticketing facilities at Liverpool South Parkway are limited, we recommend that you buy your ticket in advance, for your full journey before travelling.

Rail replacement bus information

Rail replacement buses are unable to carry large items of luggage, bicycles (unless they’re fully- foldable) and animals (unless they’re registered assistance dogs).

If you’re travelling to / from Liverpool during this time, please plan ahead. We are advising you to do the following to stay on the move:

  • Plan your journey in advance
  • Buy tickets for your full journey before you travel
  • Allow extra time for the rail replacement part of your journey

Other operators

East Midlands Railway – Trains on the Liverpool Lime Street – Norwich route will start / terminate at Liverpool South Parkway.

Northern – Buses replace trains between Liverpool Lime Street and St Helens Central, Earlestown / Newton-le-Willows and Hunts Cross.

Transpennine Express - Buses replace trains between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street.

Transport for Wales – Trains will not run between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.

Virgin Trains – Most trains between London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street will be diverted to run between London Euston and Warrington Bank Quay. Buses will operate between Warrington Bank Quay and Liverpool Lime Street.
