Harry Potter Tour
Explore the Forbidden Forest against the express wishes of Professor Dumbledore at The Making Of Harry Potter tour in Leavesden, based on the wizarding world of JK Rowling. Walk through the gates to Hogwarts, past one of Rubeus Hagrid’s original costumes, where you will be greeted by a full-size model of the magnificent hippogriff Buckbeak and come face to face with the 18 feet wide spider Aragog. This summer, The Goblet Of Fire will be returning to the Great Hall until September 23. Tickets must be booked online in advance and can’t be purchased in person on the day. A shuttle bus to the tour leaves from directly outside the station so you won’t need to bring your broomsticks.
Big Jiveswing Festival
The Big Jiveswing Festival returns to the leafy surroundings of Cassiobury Park on July 29, wooing families to a free afternoon of internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, bands and dancers, plus dance classes for children, cabaret performances and market stalls. The line-up of top musical acts will be announced shortly but last year’s star performers included The Jive Aces Meanwhile, The Parade transforms into the Big Beach between August 4 and 19. Bring and bucket and spade to search for prize shells hidden in the sand or kick back and relax with one of the daily free activities.
