Northampton Balloon Festival
The skies over Northampton burn bright with colour and light between August 17 and 19 when Northampton Balloon Festival gains altitude. The 6am and 6pm flights are weather dependent so keep your fingers crossed for clear skies and on Saturday at 9pm there is the balloon glow, when the canopies light up tethered to the ground, creating a dazzling spectacle for the eyes. The festival caters to families with a programme of entertainment and activities including an extreme mountain bike show, falconry display and live music. You’ll need to take a taxi from the station to Billing Aquadome, located approximately six miles to the east of the town centre.
The County Ground
On September 1, The County Ground temporarily puts away its cricket whites to host a music double-bill to prolong the giddy summer holiday spirit. Craig David plays a packed programme of his hits and pop diva turned Fifty Shades actress Rita Ora (pictured) keeps the chart favourites coming including her recent singles Anywhere and For You.
Peppa Pigs Adventure
