Climb 311 spiral steps to enjoy 360º views of the capital. A permanent reminder of the Great Fire of 1666, The Monument commemorates one of the most significant events in London’s history. The 202ft column designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Dr Robert Hooke celebrates the city that rose from the ashes.

Hidden in the attic of a church, a 300-year old herb garret houses the only surviving 19th century operating theatre, complete with wooden operating table and observation stands, from which students witnessed surgery performed without anaesthetic or antiseptics.
Access to the attic is through a narrow 52-step spiral staircase.

Ancient stones reverberate with dark secrets, priceless jewels glint in fortified vaults and pampered ravens strut the grounds. The Tower of London is a 1,000-year-old castle that protects the Crown Jewels. It was a royal palace, a fortress and an infamous prison, and today it’s one of Britain's most visited historic sites.
Despite a grim reputation as a place of torture and death, there are many more stories to be told about the Tower which even housed a menagerie!
