The House’s main visitor offer, the Historical Experience show provides, a unique experience, using the historic rooms that Franklin inhabited as a stage: blending live performance, sound, lighting and visual projection to tell the rich story of Franklin’s London years in his own words. The main character, Polly Hewson, daughter of Franklin’s landlady who became a ‘second daughter’ to Franklin, accompanies visitors through the House, as they experience a sense of the complexity of the man and the times in which he lived: food, health, botany, and daily living; social and personal relationships; scientific work and musical inventions; political tensions, triumphs and woes and a hurried return to America in the face of the looming War of Independence.

Visit the award-winning Black Country Living Museum and join in with 300 years of history like no other. One of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, the Museum immerses visitors into the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the past. Explore original period shops and houses and meet the Museum’s costumed characters along the way - they’ll explain what it was like to live and work in one of the world’s most heavily industrialised landscapes. You’ll also see sparks fly as our chain maker forges a link of one of the main exports in the region during the industrial revolution. See the impact the Black Country had on the world as you step inside a full scale working replica of the world’s very first working steam engine – the Newcomen, made in 1712.
Ride a bus or take a tram down to the Museum’s Canalside village. Explore the past as you step inside the shops and houses that were once in the Black Country. Discover weird and wonderful treatments of the past in Emile Doo’s Chemist; indulge yourself in our Victorian sweet shop; test your times tables in our school or watch a film in our 1930s Lime Light Cinema. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a bag of our traditionally cooked fish and chips or quench your thirst in the Bottle & Glass Inn where a warm welcome awaits.

It is said that the 20th century person was born on Freud's couch. Visit London's most intriguing historic house museum: the final home of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, who came here in 1938 after fleeing Nazi-occupied Vienna.
Here, among the book-lined walls of Sigmund Freud's study, you can see the original psychoanalytic couch on which Freud's patients told him their dreams and memories. The house also contains Freud's amazing collection of Classical and Oriental antiquities. Almost 2,000 items fill cabinets and are arranged on every surface, including on the desk where Freud wrote until the early hours of the morning.
The museum is also filled with memories of his daughter, Anna Freud, a pioneer of child psychoanalysis.
