Collaborative business relationship management policy

West Midland Trains (WMT) have defined and established this Collaborative Business Relationship Management (CBRM) Policy to demonstrate our commitment to the implementation of successful Business Relationships with our stakeholders/interested parties across the United Kingdom railway infrastructure and satisfying industry related compliance obligations.

Effective collaborative working is ingrained in WMT’s Vision and high-Level business objectives which include:

  • Faster Journeys, more capacity, better links to other regions
  • A railway that meets customers’ expectations every time
  • A company that people are proud to work for
  • A railway for everyone
  • Working in partnership with communities, industry partners and stakeholders

We believe the implementation of a collaborative working approach to our stakeholder relationship will create greater levels of innovation and, through our commitment to continuous improvement of our collaborative business relationship management system, will deliver better value for our stakeholders.

Our implemented Collaborative Business Relationship Management System and its integral processes provides us with a framework for ensuring that WMT satisfy all its compliance obligations and for the setting of CBRM Objectives and targets. The defining of Collaborative Business Relationship Management System objectives and targets assists WMT with the opportunities to continuously improve the process and procedures required to develop and sustain effective collaborative working relationships.

If stakeholders and especially internal staff do not follow the principles of the WMT Collaborative Business Relationship Management System, we shall not be able to achieve continuous improvement in our operations, achieve value for money, embrace innovation or work efficiently, which all undermines our abilities as a successful Train Operating Company.

This Policy will be reviewed annually by the WMT Executive Board to ensure the ongoing suitability and effective application.

This policy statement shall be communicated to new starters via the induction process and made available to staff via the company SharePoint tool. Any changes to this policy or related processes shall be communicated to all staff. Stakeholders shall have access to this policy via our company website.

Signed on behalf of West Midland Trains
